WHY SIT HERE UNTIL WE DIE?
"And
there were four leprous men at the entering in of the gate: and they
said one to another, why sit we here until we die?" (2 Kings 7:3)
KJV
That was a
time of famine because there was no rain. It was so bad that some
measure of a dove’s dung was sold for 5 pieces of silver. Now, four
lepers were sitting outside the gate of the city, thrown out because
they were lepers. In those days, there was no medical cure for
leprosy. If God did not heal, the leper stayed that way. Today,
medical cure for leprosy exists. Nonetheless, did you know that Sin
is leprosy?
Sin is
spiritual leprosy. Many human beings today are spiritually leprous.
The only cure is the blood of Jesus. There is no natural cure for
spiritual leprosy. No X-ray will show you where sin resides. No
vaccine prevents lies. No ointment will cure you from the lust of the
flesh. No tablet will remove the wickedness in the heart of man. It
is only the blood of Jesus. "God
commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)The
blood of Jesus is still working for us. Your sins have been forgiven.
Do not
remain in spiritual leprosy. Accept Jesus today and live a righteous
life. People remain in spiritual leprosy for two main reasons. They
are Ignorance and Arrogance. People live and die in sin because they
are ignorant. They want to know God but they go to the wrong places
to find Him. I know a young man who said his prophet read Matt 3:8
where it says, "Bring
forth therefore fruits meet for repentance:"
And the prophet said bring banana, orange, apples, etc. Ignorance!
In Hosea
4:6, God says, "My
people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…"and
He went on to say elsewhere that when we know the truth, we shall be
made free. "
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
(John 8:32) The
best way to cure ignorance is to acquire knowledge from the Word of
God.
PRAYER/CONFESSION:
You have
placed before me life and death: I choose life. I choose knowledge
and I will not die. I walk into my abundance, in the name of Jesus.
